Torn between TransferXL and TransferNow?

On size, it’s a tie: 5 GB per free transfer, no sign-up required, on both sides. But TransferXL imposes a 10 GB daily cap and inserts ad slots while you send.

TransferNow keeps sending ad-free and with no daily quota, with a modern interface that smooths the journey from the very first use. Your files are hosted in France or in the closest region, ensuring both speed and GDPR compliance — TransferXL relies on a worldwide CDN with no location details.

From the free plan, TransferNow also includes:

At a comparable entry price (~10 €/month), the capacity gap is clear: TransferXL Pro caps each transfer at 100 GB where TransferNow Premium allows 250 GB, with much longer retention (up to 365 days vs 6 weeks).

• TransferXL: no truly comparable multi-user solution — a per-user billing model (~20 €/month).

For large organizations, TransferNow Enterprise includes a subdomain and company domain, SSO, SCIM and regional storage for full control — TransferXL’s Enterprise plan remains more limited on these aspects.

TransferXL only allows background customization and the use of a subdomain on its paid plans, within a narrow scope.

TransferNow pushes customization further to showcase your brand: logo (interface and emails), background as an image or a video, your brand colors, a subdomain and dedicated domain, and customization of the information visible on the download page (text, image, button, link, video…). Every transfer becomes a relay for your visual identity.

TransferXL focuses mainly on sending files. TransferNow also covers receiving: request files by email or get a permanent secure upload link — ideal in an email signature — with an instant alert as soon as a file is dropped off.

You can also embed a no-code widget on your website, fully customizable (text fields, dropdowns, radio buttons, checkboxes) — a feature that doesn’t exist at TransferXL.

The password is available from the free version on both sides — at TransferXL it acts as the end-to-end encryption key and cannot be recovered if lost. TransferNow adds SSE-C encryption with your own optional key, for maximum confidentiality of your sensitive data.

You choose to host your account’s files in France or in the region of your choice — TransferXL relies on a worldwide CDN with no precise location. Every file transferred through TransferNow is scanned by an antivirus and a proactive threat detection system, and two-factor authentication protects user accounts.
